When you think of someone you love that’s just making you nuts, and its playing over in your mind…how they SHOULD be different.. and you feel that knot in your stomach, stop, laugh and say: this is not the path of least resistance!
I am for whatever reason choosing the path of more resistance. Which isn’t good for me for a lot of reasons. I can feel my blood pressure going up, I can feel my temperature going up, I can feel that I’m not allowing the well-being that would be there if I wasn’t doing this thing.
So then you say - if that person would be different, then I wouldn’t be doing this. So we say, none of these things are taking you down the path of least resistance. You say that person should be doing something different, then you say- that person wont do something different, then you say-that person is not ever going to do something different. Then do you hear what you are saying to yourself? Your saying for me to feel good that person needs to do something different. And we say, You’ve got yourself jammed into a corner, like a bat flying into a cave with no way out. Your stuck. Your wedged right into that crack. You can’t get out. No wonder your mad at them, you think its their fault. But if you would say to yourself—I’m going to take the path of least resistance. I’m going to find a positive aspect about that person. They you say, later I will find a positive aspect about that person…Later. That was a path of least resistance. At least you did not keep driving forward on what was making you feel worse, at least you tried to pull back from that thought. Its a mental path of allowing ease in your body right now.
